Unity Day
As we approach October, we are excited to share information about Unity Day on October 16, 2024. This special day is dedicated to promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion within our community and beyond.
WHAT IS UNITY DAY?
Unity Day is a nationwide event celebrated as part of National Bullying Prevention Month in October. It encourages everyone to wear orange and take a stand against bullying, fostering an environment where every individual feels valued and respected.
HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE
Wear Orange: On October 16, we invite everyone - students, staff, and community members - to wear orange to show your support for unity and kindness.
Community Activities: Check out your local community for any special events. Stay tuned for things LYA or our middle and high school student groups, Stand Up Sachems, might be planning!
Donate: Whether it’s time, skills, money, or resources, donating to organizations that help promote safety and wellbeing for kids and the community.
Spread the Word: Help us promote Unity Day by sharing information with your friends and family. Use social media to show your support by tagging us and using the hashtag #UnityDay2024.
WHY UNITY MATTERS
In a world that can often feel divided, Unity Day serves as a reminder of the power of kindness and connection. It’s a chance for us to come together, celebrate our differences, and stand up against bullying.
We look forward to seeing everyone in their orange attire and hope you’ll join us in making Unity Day a memorable occasion for our community!
Thank you for your continued support in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all.
