Drug Take Back Day

OCTOBER 26, 2024

As we get further into October, we’re excited to announce that Drug Take Back Day will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 10AM to 2PM at the Laconia Police Department (126 New Salem St, Laconia, NH). Anonymously and safely dispose of your unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medication, no questions asked! Please note, this facility does not accept needles, syringes, or other sharps, as well as any hazardous waste. If you are in need of disposal of these materials, please contact us for more information.

WHAT IS DRUG TAKE BACK DAY?

Drug Take Back Day is part of a national initiative sponsored by the DEA aimed at reducing the risk of prescription drug abuse and keeping our communities safe. By disposing of medications properly, we can prevent potential misuse, accidental poisonings, and environmental contamination.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

Participating in Drug Take Back Day is a simple yet powerful way to contribute to a healthier and safer community. It also serves as a reminder for families to regularly check their medicine cabinets and remove any unused medications.

Help us raise awareness about this event by sharing this information with friends, family, and neighbors. The more we engage our community, the more successful we can be in promoting safe medication disposal.

WHY DRUG TAKE BACK DAY MATTERS

Unused or expired medications are a public safety issue. Proper disposal of unneeded drugs saves lives and protects the environment and our overall community.
